Jordan W. McFarlane MISM is a professional musician, teacher, and choral director based in Telford, Shropshire. A member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM), Jordan brings over a decade of dedication, expertise, and genuine passion to every lesson and rehearsal.
Musical Training
Jordan holds the dipABRSM (Diploma), ABRSM Piano Grade 8, and ABRSM Music Theory Grade 5, alongside ABRSM Grade 5 in Brass (Tuba, Cornet, and Trumpet).
Jordan has studied piano with distinguished teachers including Robyn Davies MBE, Karen Chambers, Nykkö-Mickaël Grégoire, and Alison Cotes. Brass training was under Andi Straw (Tuba) and Stephen Prichard-Jones (Cornet/Trumpet), with vocal training from Christine Hollies.
Teaching
Jordan offers expert piano, singing, and music theory tuition from his home studio in Apley, Telford. Students of all ages and abilities are welcome — from young beginners taking their first steps in music to adults returning to the piano after years away.
With a strong focus on fundamentals — posture, technique, rhythm, and musical enjoyment — every lesson is personalised, structured, and designed to build confidence alongside skill. Jordan has particular experience working with neurodiverse learners, including students with ADHD and dyslexia.
Jordan prepares students for ABRSM and LCM examinations at all grades, providing thorough, encouraging preparation that achieves consistently strong results.
